Omo
3 DEGREES FROM THE EQUATOR, the Omo Valley of Ethiopia is considered one of the most remote places on the planet. Lorimer had to go. He went equipped with camera and canvas to study the indigenous tribes of the Mursi, Karo and Hamar people, who have managed to remain as they were from the beginning of time.
From Brian’s notes: “the body painting, scarification, lip plates and amazing head dresses made the tribal people seem like walking paintings”, hence the birth of the series that practically painted itself.
